Chic-Chocs -“The insurmountable cliffs”, is a hidden treasure of forests, mountains, lakes and wildlife in the Appalachians where the most avid adventurers can practice their favorite activities accompanied by experienced guides.
You will see and experience Caribou and moose in abundance, soaring eagles, snow patches in late August, walking in clouds over alpine vegetation on peaks and plateaus rising above 3,400 feet, “intense” views of tarns, cliffs, gorges, saddles and waterfalls, and unique accommodations at the Chic Choc mountain lodge.
The mountain lodge is a sublime getaway off the beaten track, the only lodge built near the peaks. Perched on the edge of a chasm, it is only accessible by a four wheel drive. No phone, radio or television in the lodge. The scenery is breathtaking, facing 2 giant mountains of 3,280 ft and a crystal clear water fall. In winter, skiing (without ski lifts) or snowshoeing is an exciting challenge for the average to most advanced skiers. In the summer, hiking and mountain biking, salmon fishing and fly fishing are just few of the many outdoor pleasures. At chic-choc, you will experience:
